π How to build Rev, Tithe Extractor
Rev, Tithe Extractor is a four-mana legendary Human Rogue whose main job is to turn attacks into value. Whenever you attack, one target creature gains deathtouch until end of turn, so your attacks can make a creature a deadly blocker or combat threat for that turn. Whenever creatures you control deal combat damage to a player, you create a Treasure and exile the top card of that player's library, which you may cast for as long as it stays exiled. The game plan is to attack with a steady board, convert combat damage into Treasures and extra cards, and use deathtouch to win fights.
Build around a critical mass of creatures so that combat damage to players happens often, and favor creatures that benefit from attacking or blocking well. Mana acceleration helps you use the exiled cards quickly, and the popular black cards on the list fit this plan: Dark Ritual for early mana, Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor to find key pieces, and Reanimate to return a creature that was lost in combat. Toxic Deluge and Feed the Swarm can clear blockers, while Phyrexian Arena adds steady card advantage.
The main weakness is that almost every payoff depends on combat damage reaching a player. Opposing blockers, or an empty board on your side, can shut the engine down. Deathtouch applies to only one creature per attack and lasts only that turn, so it is not a permanent defense. Keep in mind that exiled cards still cost mana to cast, and avoid overcommitting creatures into a sweeper like Toxic Deluge.
