π How to build Inga and Esika
Inga and Esika turns every creature you control into a mana source for more creatures. Each one gains vigilance and can tap for one mana of any color, spendable only on creature spells. Whenever you cast a creature spell and three or more of the mana used came from creatures, you draw a card. The game plan is to deploy a wide board, then tap several creatures to cast your next threat and refill your hand.
Build around cheap creatures that can start producing mana quickly, since you need at least three creature-sourced mana per draw. Birds of Paradise is a natural fit, adding to your mana even before the commander's effect matters. Ramp spells like Cultivate, Farseek, Nature's Lore, Rampant Growth, Kodama's Reach, and Three Visits help you reach four mana and land Inga and Esika early. Rhystic Study adds more card advantage, and Counterspell, Beast Within, and Heroic Intervention give you interaction and protection.
Watch the restrictions. The mana only pays for creature spells, so noncreature cards can't use it. Creatures tapping for mana also tend to be summoning sick, and the text doesn't remove that, so new creatures can't help right away. The draw trigger depends on a board of creatures, so removal on your team hurts, and Inga and Esika itself is a key target to protect.
