📖 How to build Deadpool, Trading Card
Deadpool, Trading Card is a Rakdos creature whose main hook is his swap ability. As he enters, you may exchange his text box with another creature's, letting you trade his abilities for a creature you already want to use. His upkeep trigger costs you 3 life each turn, and for {3} you can sacrifice him so each other player draws a card. The game plan is a Rakdos value deck that pays life and gives opponents cards, then leans on the strength of whatever creature you swap him into.
Build around cards that generate card advantage or help you recover life and card flow. Faithless Looting and Phyrexian Arena can keep your hand full while you pay the upkeep cost. Dark Ritual and Demonic Tutor help you find and deploy your key pieces quickly. Reanimate and Feed the Swarm fit a deck that wants to turn creatures over and sacrifice them. Sweepers like Toxic Deluge and Blasphemous Act can clear the board when you need to reset.
Watch the life total closely, because the 3-life upkeep cost adds up quickly in long games. Sacrificing Deadpool also gives opponents cards, so use that ability only when it is clearly worth it. The swap is optional and happens only as he enters, so plan for it before he hits the battlefield.
