📖 How to build Alibou, Ancient Witness
Alibou, Ancient Witness is a Boros artifact creature that turns a board of artifact creatures into an attacking force. Its first ability gives every other artifact creature you control haste, so newly cast artifact creatures can attack immediately. Its second ability triggers whenever one or more of your artifact creatures attack, dealing X damage to any target and letting you scry X, where X is the number of tapped artifacts you control. The plan is to go wide with artifacts, attack, and use the damage to remove blockers or finish opponents.
Build around cheap artifact creatures and token makers that produce artifacts, so the trigger fires often and X stays high. Removal such as Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile can clear blockers, and Teferi's Protection can shield your key pieces when the board is threatened.
Alibou costs five mana and has no protection of its own, so one removal spell can shut off the whole engine. Its damage depends on tapped artifacts, so a board with few artifacts produces little X. Its bonuses only help artifact creatures, and attacking commits your artifacts to combat, which can leave you short on blockers.
